Standard e-platform for business licensing across UAE
The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) announced launch of the first phase of Bashr (Doing business in 15 minutes) initiative, one of the most important strategic initiatives implemented and developed through close and constructive cooperation with 50 local and federal government departments and entities involved in licensing economic activities in the UAE. This initiative aims to allow incorporation of 1200 businesses via single electronic platform, reducing the time of establishing companies and providing a national smart platform for customers to finalize registration of their businesses from any point across the UAE. This will replace the potential 6 visits to finalize a commercial license with just a 15-minute process.
In this respect, H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansouri, TRA Director General, said: "Bashr" initiative is a clear manifestation of the vision of HH Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, as described by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, saying that the government of future should be sophisticated, forward looking, routine breaker, hotel-like, quick and strong in actions. The government should respond swiftly to changes, find innovative solutions to challenges and make life easier and happier for people.
The first phase of the initiative includes full electronic incorporation process that involves obtaining a new commercial license and establishment cards at the Federal Department of Naturalization and Residency and at the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation in addition to other procedures to be hosted later. The platform offers the service of exchanging data online to streamline procedures and improve data accuracy, adopts standard mechanisms to collect fees and approves the standardized digital identity and electronic signature.
